3 Steps to Prep Clients for a Smooth Ordering Appointment
A successful ordering appointment doesn’t start when your client walks through the door—it starts well before that.
Here are three things I always do to set the stage for a calm, confident meeting:
1. Plant the seed early.
I start talking about artwork during the inquiry and booking process—not the ordering appointment. I drop hints about framed prints or albums in my welcome guide, consult call, and even session reminders.
2. Send a reminder that sets the tone.
A day or two before, I send a short, friendly (automated!) email with the time, location, and a quick note like:
"Can’t wait to share your full gallery, and we’ll choose your favorite images to turn into finished artwork—see you soon!"
3. Give them a “heads-up” on pricing.
No one likes surprises. I include a product menu (with starting prices) early in the process so that clients know what to expect. It builds trust and saves awkwardness later.
The more prepared your client feels, the more confident they are in saying yes—and the smoother the experience is for everyone.
